Rides, relaxing and really big whales!

OUR FAMILY HOLIDAY!

At the end of July, my family and I embarked on our annual family holiday!

This year, we were lucky enough to head to Queensland baby!!!

It was fantastic to walk off the plane and straight into the warmth and sunshine of the Gold Coast. We stayed at Kirra Beach, right on the beach with a gorgeous view of Surfer’s Paradise.

It was a jam packed 2 weeks where we visited all the “Worlds” and had an amazing time.

We visited Seaworld and the kids got to swim with the dolphins. We couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces at the end of it. They even got to feed on of the Dolphins, which was very special.

The funniest thing to happen while we were at Seaworld, was when we sat down for lunch and a seagull flew low across the table in between all of us and collected a chip off our box of chips in the middles of the table. we could not believe it.

We spent some time at Movie World while the boys hit the rides and my daughter got her hair braided with colour braids. We had photos with some Movie World characters and a yummy ice crusher.

In the afternoon, the kids spent time in the pool while the parents sat on the side and read their books.

Next on the agenda was a boat cruise to do some whale watching. And while we were not really successful finding any whales the first time out, we were lucky enough to get a do-over and found many stunning whales. one in particular, circled our boat for about 40 minutes and we snapped lots of photos.

And while the kids loved Wet n Wild, I have to say that my favourite place we visited, was Dream World. It has been over 20 years since I last went to Dream World and it was great to see that it was just as magical as I remembered it.

Especially the tiger show! Such beautiful animals.

It was definitely better than Movie World in my opinion, especially since many of the rides at Movie world were closed when we went there.

YES DAY!!!

Yes, we did it, although we didn’t quite do it just like the movie, there were a few limits and a shorter amount of time. They chose Timezone, mini golf and a bike ride along the beach. They certainly didn’t take as much advantage of Yes day as they could have, but I love that about my kiddos.

We spent a lot of time at the beach and relaxing, but also filled our time with so much adventure.

It was exactly what we all needed to relax, recharge and get ready for the coming busy months ahead.

Thanks for sharing in a little glimpse of our family holiday!

Choose from hundreds of amazing themes....

HUNDREDS??? Did you say HUNDREDS??????

Yes, I did say hundreds, but it is probably more like thousands if I am really honest, but let’s just keep it a little bit simple to help you choose. ;)

It can feel a little overwhelming when you begin to think about choosing a theme for your Dream Art Image. You want to get something that you child is going to love, but you don’t want them to be selecting from the hundreds of themes that I mentioned above.

So how do we come up with a Dream Art Photo that you and your kiddo will loooove?

Well, it’s easy!

Once you book your Dream Art Photoshoot, I will give you a call and that’s when you tell me all about your amazing kiddo and what they love most.

I ask you a few quick questions and together, we narrow down some themes that your child is going to go crazy over.

As I prepare for your session, I will gather about 8-10 different themes together in a folder, ready for you to view and choose from when you arrive at the studio. These themes will be based on everything your child loves, with maybe a few others thrown in there as well to show you variety in the themes available.

When you arrive at the studio, we spend about 5 minutes going through the selection and you and your kiddo will choose your favourites and then we start taking photos to suit these themes.

Sounds simple right?

So now that you know how easy it is to find a theme that is going to knock your socks off, what’s stopping you from booking in your Dream Art Session?

My child will NOT sit for a photo!

My child will NOT sit for a photo!

Parents come to me all the time and tell me that don’t think their child will sit still for a photo.

It’s a common stress amongst many parents, especially mums, because if you are anything like me, you feel like it is a true reflection on you and your parenting.

But it’s not and I know, deep down we know that.

So how can I assure you that I can capture a gorgeous photo of your child?

Whether you are coming to the studio to have a Dream Art Photo or you are gathering everyone together to update your family photos, I guarantee, you will have beautiful photos of your kiddos.

HOW? HOW? HOW?

I hear you…. but HOW?

I certainly have some tricks up my sleeve and I am going to share some of them with you, and keep some of them up my sleeve for when you come for photos, lol.

1.FUN FUN FUN - It’s all about making sure that the photo session feels like fun instead of a sit and stare at the camera session.

2. FRESH AIR - Family sessions are held outdoors where your kids are free to run around and play and enjoy spending time with you. This is how we capture some really natural and relaxed photos - just by playing.

3. FARTS - I‘m sorry, but farts and burps are just funny to kids and no matter how old they are, it just makes them laugh. Don’t be scared off if you hear me start talking about them in your session.

AND the last one I will share with you, is…..

4. BRIBARY - I am not above a little bribary to get the job done. I always have a bundle of treats in my bag, (kid treats, not dog treats, although I have them too, lol), and I am prepared to use them as needed, either during the session or as a special surprise after the session is done. I often hear parents with their own bribes up their sleeve for the kids when the photos are all done too.

The best thing to remember is that your kids will (generally), always behave better for someone else than they will for you, AND you CANNOT, let this stop you from getting beautiful photos of your family and your kids.

It is so important to capture them now, because we all know that they grow so fast and before we know it, all we have is some silly face, out of focus, photos of them on our phones.

Family sessions will be opening up in September, for a limited time so keep an eye out for this!

Christmas is the perfect time to update and capture your family.

Dream Art Sessions run all year round, so don’t hesitate to capture your kids as they are right now!

Karen was a mum who thought she would never get family photos. Her son has autism and knew that following instructions and sitting still was going to be hard for him.

There was a lot of talk and we took our time as we walked around the park and ensured that he felt comfortable every step of the way.

Here is what Karen had to say after her family session…
