Hey, I'm Julie Hedges, Owner and Photographer at Three Hearts Photography.
I love family and children's photography and I want to create photos for you that really show you the emotions, expressions and personalities that you love the most about your family.
I want to chat with you and find out what you would like from your Portrait Session, what your children like, what makes them smile and to capture what is most in your Family Portraits.
But I also want to tell you a little bit about me too....
I was actually born and raised in Ballarat, but don't be fooled, I am far from a country girl, so please don't ask me to shear a sheep or milk a cow. lol.
I moved to Melbourne to study photography in 1996 and decided that I just couldn't leave the big city life, although if I'm honest, it was probably the shopping that I loved more than anything else.
I have travelled to the UK and Europe as well as Canada and the USA, where I also worked in a Summer Camp in Maine, 2 years in a row. I taught Photography there and was part of a team of photographers that recorded all the camp events for their end of summer year book. It was an experience that I really loved and learnt a lot from.
10 Years ago, I was set up on a blind date by one of my close friends. That night I found the most genuine, funny, caring man I had ever met and he became my best friend and two and a half years later, he became my husband. He is so supportive and has backed me all the way in following my dream of having my own Photography Business. We have 2 beautiful children and a very special Angel Baby. My children make me so happy and I can't imagine life without them.
My family are very important to me and I love spending time with them on family outings, just lounging around at home, playing games or watching a movie. I am a bit of a home body and I would much rather stay at home with my family than go out without them.
Autumn is my absolutely favourite session and I drag my family out every Autumn to have photos taken amongst the autumn leaves. We roll around in them and throw them on top of each other and just have a ball.
I love writing, reading, scrapbooking and of course, taking photos, especially of my beautiful children. My love of photography started when my sister was choosing her year 10 electives and I stole her course guide to see what I could be when I grew up. I saw photography and I was instantly in love. From then on, my life was all about photography. Even when I took a few years out to work in Early Childhood Education, I still pursued photography in my spare time and was always the centre photographer.
I have a Diploma in Children's Services and during my time working in in Early Childhood Education, I worked with all age groups, but specialised in the 0-2 year old age group.
I believe that I have a genuine rapport with children and I am able to make them feel calm and relaxed quickly. I know how important my kids are to me, so I know how important your kids are to you.
I know how you want to capture every smile, every giggle, their big gorgeous eyes, their tiny little fingers, the cheeky way they look at you and every little piece of their personality. I want to help you do that and give you something that you can hold on to long after they have all grown up.
So, that's a little bit about me. Thanks for getting to know me.
If you feel like I am the photographer for you, then I would love to photograph you and your family, creating something that you will hold on to forever and pass down to your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
