Kids Are Happier Outside!
Over the last couple of months, I have been busy behind the scenes taking and editing over 130 kinder photos for a gorgeous kindergarten in Baxter.
As I sat there editing, mostly into the wee hours of the morning, I noticed something that I just had to share.......
As I sorted through these photos with gorgeous smiles, a blink here and there, a few looking away, some laughing and the ones where they looked at me like I was just a little crazy, I began to see a pattern as I edited the indoor photos and the outdoor photos.
I love the indoor photos. It shows the children as they concentrate on their building, puzzles, dramatic play and more. And their smiles are beautiful!
But you get them outdoors and something changes and their smiles become bigger and there is a sparkle in their eyes and you can see a difference in their whole body and being.
Every child I edited this year was the same. Even when there was a child that was a little more serious, when they got outside, everything changed and they were all smiles. It was amazing to see and made me smile as I opened every new folder to edit each child's portraits.
It confirmed to me the importance of getting the kids outside. It is such a hard time of year, I know, If you are anything like me, you would much prefer to stay inside and be warm and cosy with the heater on and maybe some fluffy slippers.
But with smiles like these, how can you ignore the fact that kids are happier outside and that we need to get them outside more often, even if it means we have to go outside with them, lol.
