6 Ways to Get Your Mumma Sparkle Back – Three Hearts Photography, Family Portrait Photography

School Holidays are over and you might be feeling a little tired and a little insane. Of all the school holidays, the Winter holidays can often be the worst. So much rain and cold weather and being cooped up inside, even if we take the kids to inside activities, we are still inside and missing the sunshine like crazy!
So, now that the kids are back at school and life is returning back to normal, it’s time to get our Mumma sparkle back.
Here’s 6 easy ways to get your Mumma Sparkle back and feel a little more human again….
  1. Take the Morning Off!
The easiest of all, (maybe). Take a kid free morning off work. Don’t do any house work, homework, washing, cooking, cleaning, chores or errands. Do something FUN for you! Call up a friend and go out for a coffee or a milkshake or just have a chat in the phone if you can’t catch up together.

  1. Massage
Treat yourself to a massage. So often we go through our days with aches and pains and never take care of ourselves in the simple ways. A massage can take care of those aches and pains and help us to relax and get us ready to face the busy term ahead.
  1. Shopping
Go and treat yourself to a new top, or pair of pants, maybe a new pair of shoes. It doesn’t have to be expensive; it just has to be something different to make you feel great and put a sparkle in your step.

  1. Read a Book
If you love reading then this one is for you. Grab a new book and sit down for a couple of hours and catch up on some reading that is NOT about a yellow dog called Spot or going on a bear hunt.
If you prefer, you could substitute reading with watching your favourite tv show. Watch a couple of your favourite episodes or catch up on the recent releases.

  1. Go For a Walk
Getting outside in the fresh air and going for a walk does amazing things for our mental health. We feel the fresh air on our faces and in our lungs and it allows us to get those good endorphins going and brings us a little happy sparkle that we are looking for.

And lastly…
  1. A Sneaky Bit of Chocolate
We all have our own little vices and for most of us mummas, we love some chocolate when we can sneak it away from the kids and our husbands. It might be something small, but it can help to boost our spirits and give us a little bit of sanity back.

Whatever you decide to do, the most important thing is to take some time for yourself and get a little happy back in to your day and a little sparkle back in to your life.
Because you are a VERY important part of your family and the little people who depend on you, need you at your very best!
